Gemma and Hayden’s Bulli elopement style celebrations

Sandon Point Wedding Photos

What do you think of when I say the word elopement? There are many different definitions but I think to elope is to decide to celebrate in your own way. And with that comes a great sense of freedom.  That’s why I want to share these Bulli elopement style photos with you.

I do have a confession to make though, Gemma and Hayden were already married in New Zealand beforehand. However, it was important that they capture photos in Gemma’s hometown of Bulli to showcase their love in both countries! I have recently had a lot of couples wanting to celebrate in two countries and I love it. Just last year I had two couples have their ceremonies in Sydney and then their other weddings in Greece and Hungary! You can see their celebrations here and here.

Gemma and Hayden truly encapsulated what it meant to be free to celebrate your love in these photos.  They said they felt no pressure, loved being playful and most of all truly felt relaxed

Hayden says, “Loved our wedding photo shoot with Gemma! She made us feel at ease and we ended up with amazing pictures to keep for the rest of our lives! Would highly recommend for very relaxed natural pictures!”

Gemma says, “Couldn’t recommend Gemma any higher. Her business is like a family which makes you feel very much at ease.”

Bulli Elopement – All the Details

Gemma is a savvy spender and when it came to her wedding dress she wanted something stylish without the big price tag. She was also on a tight deadline of eight weeks. So she decided to consider a second hand designer dress. She was able to pick up an amazing Bo and Luca creation from a lovely lady through the online wedding dress marketplace Still White.  “It was absolutely everything I could want out of a dress and I loved that it already had a story.”

The paper and native bouquet was made by Gemma for her sister Sam’s wedding as a table centrepiece. She then recycled it for their Bulli elopement and made it into a bouquet with some natives added – looks great! Since we were near the water we decided to only have the bouquet for a few photos so Gemma and Hayden could splash around in the water!
