Rebecca and Justen’s intimate Greek Villa Wedding was on the island of Zakynthos in Greece. I highly recommend all weddings end with everyone in the pool at night in their underwear! Despite the stressful events leading up to the wedding (see below) everyone was so relaxed and in such good spirits. It was the celebration everyone needed and truly embraced.
So, the story is that this Greek Villa Wedding almost didn’t happen. Thomas Cook Travel went into liquidation just five days beforehand. There were less than 20 guests but the majority had booked with Thomas Cook and were coming from the UK. Luckily, the guests were able to book other flights. Phew!
This was Rebecca and Justen’s second wedding celebration in three weeks. They had a bigger wedding in Sydney (where they live) and I covered the ceremony and portraits for them. When they enquired with me they told me they weren’t even sure they would have a photographer at their Greek wedding. I almost fell off my chair when I read that! So I let Rebecca know I would be nearby in Italy at the time and could easily fly over. I am so glad that changed her mind as there were so many wonderful moments with friends and family that can now be cherished forever. Oh and the venue was AMAZING too and made an incredible backdrop so it definitely deserved to be captured professionally!
You certainly don’t need fancy decorations to have a stunning Greek Villa Wedding. As you can see from the photos all you need is: the villa; the wedding outfits; fun-loving guests; local homemade Greek food and a pool!
Great details and moments from the day
*Rebecca wore two wedding dresses. The second one she paired with her mother’s veil and some super cute red shoes!
*Rebecca is a very talented stage actor and certainly felt instantly comfortable in front of the camera!
*Justen takes a lot of care with his grooming and I must admit looked very dapper in his wedding suit!
*The vows were just as emotional the second time around. Perhaps even more passionate as they had been living those vows for three weeks already!
*Rebecca loves reading so it was absolutely essential to incorporate a book into some of the portraits on the day.
* The wonderful caretaker from Palazzo di P made a delicious feta and spinach pie. The pastry was amazing – yum yum!
