The Marmalade Sky ‘Give a Shit’ Workshop – Trash to Treasure

Pay it Forward Project supporting Headspace

Kimberley owns ‘The Marmalade Sky’ and offers incredible styling, floral magician skills and expert event organisation.  Consequently it was no surprise that when I met her at Charlotte and Patrick’s wedding I was instantly impressed! The bright floral ceremony styling and feasting table she put together was outstanding. You can see K’s awesome work from that wedding here.  I was also excited when she asked me to capture her ‘Give a Shit’ styling workshop because the proceeds were being donated to Headspace.  I believe supporting mental health is very important and I think noone should ever be afraid to ask for help. Therefore this workshop became one of my ‘Pay it Forward’ projects.

K’s thoughts on the workshop. “The theme was trash to treasure. I am so mad for recycling, up-cycling and re-purposing. Hence, I hate waste. So basically, I collect a bunch of stuff that would normally be deemed ‘trash’ and then turn those things into styling treasure! Like the big pink cylinders, they’re actually mailing tubes. And the place cards are smashed up old tiles from my backyard. All the candles are leftovers from weddings and the chair I found on the side of the road. However, the tulle is a little different and came from the scrap fabric bin at Reverse Garbage.”

Please enjoy seeing the participants amazing creations. I think you will discover K had a great influence on the outcome also!
