Kate and Danny’s Sydney Pub Wedding in Glebe

Stunning floral styling, homemade desserts and designer dresses!

Kate and Danny wanted a super relaxed wedding. After lots of searching for the right location and almost ready to give up, they found a pub that was happy to host their wedding. A Sydney Pub Wedding was the perfect way to celebrate their new life together as husband and wife! They didn’t need to have a formal first dance, fancy wedding cars or a pre-packaged reception format. The hosts at Toxteth Hotel were so accommodating and Kate and Danny could breathe a sigh of relief!

Kate started off the wedding day with her sister and friends in an apartment in Balmain East. A picture-perfect day was in order with stunning views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the passing water traffic including old sailing ships, yachts and ferries. The ladies spent the morning participating in some yoga on the grassy area below the apartment.

The emotion-filled ceremony was held in the indoor courtyard of Toxteth Hotel with its gorgeous character-filled feature wall as the backdrop. After a big group photo outside the hotel, we headed down Glebe Point Road to the edge of Jubilee Park. We enjoyed the views of the Anzac Bridge and the huge fig trees that line the shore. We may have squeezed in some fun with shadow puppets too!

Unfortunately on the day, Uber was not the most reliable form of transport so we walked back up to the hotel, sneaking in some cheeky photos in front of the gorgeous sandstone terraces and cottages in Glebe.

Arriving back at the hotel Kate and Danny headed upstairs to the private bar where they admired the gorgeous full moon shining bright against the sunset over Sydney Tower. After some fun antics at the bar, it was time for mingling with the guests downstairs and listening to heart-wrenching and belly-laughing speeches. Friends and family baked delicious desserts including brownies, honey crackles and gingerbread tuxedos. They were quickly consumed and then it was time to hit the dancefloor!

This wedding was exactly as Kate and Danny wanted – fun and relaxed! I highly recommend a Sydney Pub Wedding 🙂

I have a few facts to share about the guests from the ‘number-loving’ bride – 73.4% of the guests travelled from interstate or overseas to be at this Sydney Pub Wedding. That is a very high percentage for a Sydney wedding! The breakdown is as follows – 2 from LA, 1 from Dubai, 2 from the Solomon Islands, 38 from Perth (2 who drove!), 28 from Adelaide, 2 from outback SA, 8 from Melbourne, 1 from Brisbane and 2 from Darwin. WOW! Kate and Danny have friends and family everywhere!
