The sun shone brightly for these highschool sweethearts at their Burnham Grove Estate wedding in Camden. They were blessed with magical weather for their day considering every other day in March was raining or miserable! They chose this date in March as they could not book their actual anniversary which was the day after. It seems like luck was on their side!
Tara wanted a rustic chic theme with lots of greenery and natural elements to compliment the stunning Burnham Grove Estate Wedding venue. The custom wood carved name place cards at the reception and cake toppers looked incredible! There was a sweet pegboard of vintage photos showcasing beloved family members and a custom wood signing book.
I loved hearing their proposal story. I will let Tara explain it to you in her own words.
“Our proposal was exactly how I would have wanted it. Casual and low key, nothing fancy. After a day of discussing/guessing how Josh would propose the time came. Little did I know that Josh had already bought the ring and had spoken to my dad a few hours earlier to seek his blessing. After work, Josh was adamant that he wanted to go out to dinner but it was one of the hottest days in November so I wasn’t so keen.
He convinced me anyway, even dropped a few slight hints that I didn’t even pick up on! During the car ride the box kept falling out of his pocket, he had to fiddle around to pick it up without me suspecting a thing (I was oblivious). We parked the car and on the way to the restaurant he asked. I don’t even think I ate anything I was in shock and Josh couldn’t stop laughing and smiling at me as I stared at my hand most of the night.”
The heat from the sun during the ceremony was intense but much relief was had when everyone headed to the garden area with big shady trees. The kids were brave to play out in the sun with the huge noughts and crosses, croquet and badminton. The adults enjoyed the delicious spread put out by my favourite catering company, The Chef and I. After some time to catch up with their guests the bridal party headed out to the back of the property. They have lovely countryside including a big barn, chicken sheds and peppercorn trees.
Josh is not a big fan of photos but on wedding day he was doing his best to make Tara laugh every second so it would make for some great photos. I think he did really well and you will see there is lots of laughter throughout the day and night!
Tara’s sister, Ash was the very animated and entertaining MC but she was also very creative in putting together the floral decorations and bouquets. I think she did a great job! I should make another shout out to the very talented Paperhearts who offered the musical entertainment throughout the day and night – I highly recommend!
Please enjoy seeing the smiles throughout the day, the gorgeous photos at sunset and the photo we ran out of the reception to capture because the moon was making an appearance! A stunning Burnham Grove Estate wedding and one of my favourite places for a couple to celebrate their special day.
