Nathan’s 40th was going to be celebrated with a pub party and then they would surprise their friends with their nuptials. Unfortunately the party had to be put on hold but their love didn’t! Instead they decided to surprise their friends and family with an invitation to come to their wedding via Zoom! It was special as their Sydney Park wedding was held in the same spot as Kevin’s 40th the year previous.
On April 4, 2020 only weddings with a maximum of five people were allowed. I felt very privileged to be a witness along with Kevin’s sister. It was such a joyful occasion and I absolutely loved hearing the sniffles from emotional guests during the vows over Zoom. I may have shed a happy tear or two as well. The popping of champagne was also heard!
Here are some words from Kevin’s Facebook post. “After many, many, many setbacks love conquered rona! Nathan and I are so grateful for everyone who was able to share this moment with us on zoom despite the short notice. We hope to be able to celebrate with you all in real life very soon. And, a massive shout out to Gemma Clarke, our intrepid photographer/wedding cheerleader/witness for these awesome pics. Also to our celebrant Sean Fernance for his diligent use of hand sanitizer.” #loveinthetimeofcovid
