Planning an Italian destination wedding is certainly challenging when the majority of guests and yourself are travelling from France. Luckily Michela’s parents live near the Amalfi Coast and were able to help with the planning.
I was asked to help capture this gorgeous Italian destination wedding with the amazing Marie from Girl in the White Dress. At the time of the wedding I was near the Amalfi Coast so it worked out perfectly. I really enjoyed being a second photographer and having more time to think more creatively. The best part however was being treated like part of the family. Like when Matthias was getting ready, Michela’s parents made us a delicious coffee on the stove top. I was also told to help myself to all of the food on offer throughout the day! Grazie.
I encourage you to take note of a expressive Matthias as you scroll through these Italian destination wedding images. You may notice that his eyebrows and forehead wrinkles have a life of their own. Consequently he is a true showman and comedian, “You will see that the bride has a twin sister. I hope I won’t be confused.” He is certainly a cheeky groom!
My favourite moment of the whole wedding day occurred on the way to the ceremony. Unfortunately it had been raining all morning and I was worried for Michela’s feelings. Can you imagine a rainy Amalfi Coast wedding?! As she gazed out the car window she shared her thoughts, “Look at it Gemma, it’s raining and it’s still so beautiful.” In that moment, I knew everything was OK.
