When Australia voted YES I ran a Same Sex Wedding competition to win FREE Photography. Paige and Sally were the winners and they celebrated with a Windsor Backyard wedding.
Sally and Paige are police officers and met at work. Sally remembers their meeting, “We met one night on duty at Strathfield railway station. It was like all the wonderful love stories and romance movies I’d been watching my entire life had finally happened to me. I took one look at Paige and that was it, I felt like I had met my soulmate. I felt instantly connected, calm and content in her company. Not only was she sweet and kind but the most beautiful woman I had ever laid my eyes on.”
Sally has Chelsea, 8 years old, a “rainbow baby” from a previous relationship. Everyone says how beautiful Chelsea is, a miniature version of Sally. When I look past those piercing green/blue eyes I noticed how wonderfully social and cheeky this girl is. She is pretty darn smart too! An absolute pleasure to photograph with that beaming smile! I also loved her response when I asked what she loved about her Mum and Paige “They give me chocolate!” haha
Unfortunately, the day wasn’t all jokes and fun. Paige absolutely adores her horses and her baby, Evie, who she helped deliver at birth was at the vet hospital recovering from a very big operation. Paige stayed strong throughout the wedding day but you could see she was worried about her. Evie was supposed to be part of the day. Horse ribbons were specially made with “Just Married” embroidered on them. Instead, they were hung on the back of the Brides’ chairs at the reception. I am happy to report that Evie is back home with Paige and doing well.
