Sadly, no sunshine was predicted for Jessie and Harrison’s Kangaroo Valley winter wedding. While driving from Sydney to Kangaroo Valley I hoped the sun would appear at the end of the day to make the bride and groom happy. One of the main reasons they booked Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat for their wedding was for the sunset viewing deck. The deck is stunning and has amazing views over Kangaroo Valley.
My wishes were granted and the sun appeared as it was setting and it was epic! I apologise (sort of) for the number of sunset photos I have shared in this post. I think you will forgive me after you see them. The epic sunset came as a trade-off for a very cold winter’s day and rainy wedding ceremony. Jessie and Harrison were not fazed as they giggled and looked lovingly at each other during the nuptials. Jessie cheekily kept cuddling Harrison after they had their first kiss – her hands were too warm under his coat!
The day started with the girls getting ready in the glamping tent accommodation onsite. This made it hard for Jessie and Harrison’s cats to be part of the day so they were represented in a framed illustration displayed proudly in the bridal suite. The boys were spoilt getting ready in the big cottage onsite but the girls still loved being in the tents!
Jessie and Harrison love exploring the great outdoors so it’s no surprise the proposal happened while they were travelling. “A group of us decided to go to Narooma for the weekend to scuba dive with seals on Montague Island. After a lovely day of diving, Harry took me to a completely secluded beach. After sitting for a while taking in the view, he proposed.”
