During the summer in Finland you go to a cottage – it is what is done – it could be your family’s cottage or a friend’s. The cottage is usually by a lake and you partake in swimming, fishing, picking wild strawberries, blueberries and mushrooms. You have sauna at least once a day and then some fishing – net, boat or just off the shore. And eating homemade berry pies is popular too. It is the lifestyle I have become addicted to when I visit during the Finnish summer – I love it! I was so excited when Tuula asked me to take candid photos of her family over a couple of days at their summer cottage in south west Finland. This involved photographing 13 people and two dogs over 2 days enjoying the summer cottage lifestyle – from 7am – 10pm the camera was out and it was soooo much fun! The best part was witnessing the special relationships in this family – so much love!!! Please enjoy our journey.
