This Briars Country Lodge Wedding was relaxed, fun and very picturesque! Shari and Shane celebrated their day with 70 of their closest family and friends with the focus being on fun! Ditching the first dance was a good decision as it did not suit them, they are usually the ones who help others dance!
Shari and Shane met at band practice when Shari joined as the singer and Shane was the new drummer. So instead of their first dance, they decided to perform in a different way for their guests! Shane played guitar and Shari sang, “I’ll Be There” by Leaving Thomas. These truly talented musicians captivated all their guests.
Before their day I ask my clients why they chose their wedding venue. This gives me an idea of what I should focus on for photos. In this instance, Shari mentioned she loved the autumn leaves for their Briars Country Lodge Wedding. We were super lucky to have some autumn colour in April on the property but it was not everywhere. Before we started, my assistant and I collected some red, yellow and orange leaves so we could feature them in the photos of the rings and perfume! After the ceremony, we were able to find some gorgeous locations of brightly coloured autumn leaves for the bride and groom portraits. Lucky enough, we found a hidden wall with a vine growing across it with some rich red leaves!
Shari is not only a talented musician but also created the floral decorations for the reception and the boutonnieres. Perhaps that creative talent was inherited from her mum who created all the shortbread favours for guests. Shane’s contribution to DIY for the wedding, a wishing well created from a snare drum. You can see it in the pictures below :).
