Have you ever wondered what life in the outback town of Broken Hill is like? Tami & Rob were living the life in Broken Hill and wanted some photos to remember their time before they moved. Over 5 days we took Broken Hill Lifestyle Portraits. We, therefore, travelled all over town and into the further regions with a stop at the iconic Silverton to watch Rob compete in a mountain bike race. A visit to Menindee Lakes and the historic woolshed was essential.
We discovered many things during these Broken Hill Lifestyle Portraits including the local grocery store thinks that Corn Chips should be located in the Corn only section!! (haha). There are many trendy/hipster cafes – we went to two of them and their food and drinks were amazing! Yes, you heard that right, I was in the Outback! I would highly recommend a visit to Broken Hill, there are so many things to see and do and experience!
During the Broken Hill Lifestyle Portraits, I experienced many new things including capturing Tami referee an AFL game, the most stunning sunrise over the land and the most stars I have ever seen in one night sky!
I fell in love with all the rusty old fences, the peeling paint on doors and buildings and the rustic feel of all the mining structures. When we headed out of town we saw emus everywhere! The sunrises, sunsets and views of the night skies were amazing! But the most fun was getting my shoes dirty with some real red dirt in the creek beds we explored!
I loved being a part of Tami and Rob’s life and capturing what they love about Broken Hill. If you live in a place you think I would love to explore and you would like your photos taken then please let me know, Lifestyle Portraiture is my favourite type of shooting! And it can be anywhere in the world!! I have photographed people’s lives in Switzerland, Italy, Vietnam, Finland, Germany, The Netherlands and Norway.
