I really didn’t want to use the words Sydney Gay Wedding to title this post because Love is Love, right! Relationships don’t need to be labelled! However, after hearing Pascal and Richard’s stories, I thought it might be best so other couples can find me easier. Pascal was getting fed up after having troubles with a few wedding vendors. He decided to do a Google search for Same Sex photographer Sydney and that’s how he found me! I hope that someday soon this will never be an issue and wedding planning can be a positive experience always.
Pascal and Richard celebrated 12 years of love at the Rose Garden Pavilion by legally becoming husband and husband. Tami Sussman did an excellent job as celebrant – personable, professional and entertaining. Before the grooms walked down the aisle they were led by an enthusiastic page boy and flower girl with bubble guns.
Pascal and Richard are not hugely into PDA (Public Displays of Affection). Guests were invited to greet the person next to them while the grooms enjoyed their first kiss behind two parasols. This shyness in public soon disappeared when their wedding party encouraged them to kiss while we walked through the Gardens. The guys have told me that perhaps their wedding day is now a turning point for them and they may not shy away from PDA so much.
There were lots of people admiring these handsome grooms as they posed for their photos on the stairs of the Sydney Opera House. One lady, in particular, followed us around with a big smile on her face and expressing loving words in Italian. She was so happy for them!
