Tradition was something Hayley was happy to avoid for her wedding day – she was happy to do things differently. There were no flowers, a short wedding dress, no speeches, no first dance, a cocktail reception and no MC. She wanted it to be as relaxed as possible! They chose the grounds at Netherby Homestead for their relaxed Fagan Park Wedding and Lily’s for the Cocktail Reception.
Hayley and Nick got ready together at their home in Blacktown with their two furbabies, Honey and Zoe. Nick opted for Converses and although Hayley had some lovely white Converses, she decided her fancy sandals would be more comfortable for the day. There were six guests at the ceremony. The bridal party and some family members were invited to join them after the ceremony at Fagan Park for photos. One of the groomsmen decided that Hayley needed some flowers for their Fagan Park Wedding so he bought her a lovely little bunch of white flowers which we ended up using for the bridal portraits.
The Cocktail Reception afterwards was held in a gorgeous room with chandeliers, Chesterfield couches and a great dance floor. The reception was also a relaxed affair with no particular formalities, just time to catch up with friends and family and enjoy some great food, drinks and some serious dance moves! The theme was Black, White and Silver so the guests were encouraged to dress in these colours – my assistant and I did also!
Hayley is a photographer and she set up a DIY photobooth with remote control so people could take their own crazy photos. I might have jumped in there and captured some shots of my own of everyone having fun 🙂
I think my favourite detail from Hayley’s wedding was the Ice-Cream Wedding Cake – it was stunning. And my favourite moment was when we had clocked off for the night and Nick surprised Hayley and pulled her onto the dance floor to what is now ‘their song.’ I hurriedly unpacked my bag and put my camera back together with a new card and raced to the dancefloor!! I think these photos are my favourites – so much happiness! Congrats Nick and Hayley on such a relaxed and fun wedding day!
