The last weekend in winter put on an absolute amazing sun show for us! Matt and Sarah’s wedding ceremony was held at Observatory Hill, overlooking Sydney Harbour. Many of the guests had travelled from other parts of Australia and this is exactly the kind of weather Matt and Sarah had hoped for to show off their new home town. It was truly the perfect Sydney Winter Wedding.
I tell my clients sometimes that it is mostly the things you have not planned/organised that end up being your favourite parts of the day. The things you did not anticipate. I believe this was true for this day too. We were running very well to schedule, early even, and as we drove around the city we passed Matt’s favourite pub, Hart’s in The Rocks. We popped in for a quick visit and the staff gave the couple a complimentary beer. Matt and Sarah were able to spend some time together, just the two of them to reflect on their day so far (I did make myself scarce for 5 minutes). This surprise in their day is now the talking part of the day! We could have spent more time taking photos around the city in locations that really had no meaning for them but instead, I encouraged them to enjoy themselves and create more meaningful memories for their day!
The rest of the day was spent on the other side of the Harbour at Luna Park’s Deck Bar and then up the stairs to Aqua Dining to enjoy the stunning view of the Harbour Bridge. There were many heartfelt speeches and lots of partying afterwards. Perfect Wedding Day – congrats Matt and Sarah!
